At Imenco Future Technologies, Modern Apprenticeships are a perfect blend of learning on the job and classroom theory. This week is Scottish Apprenticeship Week, and we are proud to recognise our apprentices and the talent and value that they add to our company.

We have several apprentices who typically spend 2 days in college at their local UHI North, West and Hebrides campus and 3 days on site at our Wick facility. The apprentices are studying various courses such as Engineering (Asset Lifecycle and Maintenance), Procurement and Mechanical Manufacturing (CNC Machining).

Recent highlights from the course include James Cameron competing his Modern Apprenticeship in Mechanical Manufacturing (CNC Machining) at SCQF Level 6 and gaining a Higher National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering. Along side him, Emma Simpson has completed a Level 3 modern apprenticeship in Procurement at SCQF Level 6.  Emma is going on to further study CIPS Level 4.

David Craigie, Production Manager Camera Systems commented.

“The day-release format allows these future engineers to remain integrated in the workplace, gaining essential skills and building relationships with the wider team.”
