End of an Era: Mark Esslemont Retires After 43 Years of Innovation in Subsea Technology
On Friday, we wished a very bittersweet goodbye and happy retirement to Global Sales Manager Mark Esslemont after an incredible 43 years with the company.
Over the past 43 years, Mark has witnessed the company evolve through multiple stages and names from Osprey Electronics to Simrad, then Kongsberg and ultimately Imenco Future Technologies.
Mark has witnessed the technological advancement of our products from the first deliveries of low light underwater navigation cameras for offshore ROV operations in the 80s to our latest AI capable cameras of the MillieOne range.
Reflecting on his 43 years, Mark said:
“I feel incredibly fortunate to have been part of this journey, working with great people, experiencing different cultures, and seeing the world along the way.
It’s a real credit to you all that our (Imenco) products are so trusted in the industry, and I’m proud of everything we’ve achieved together. While I’m excited for what’s next, I’ll truly miss the people, the banter, and the sense of purpose that made this feel like a second home”.

Paying tribute to Marks dedication to the company Daniele Petrone CEO Imenco Future Technologies said: “Mark brought a wealth of experience to the team in terms of technical knowledge and customer relationships.
He was a very well-respected colleague in the subsea industry and was crucial in building Imenco’s reputation in subsea visual systems.”
We wish Mark all the best in his retirement and hope he enjoys the extra time to play golf and enjoy ‘granda’ duties.
Following Mark’s departure from the company, we are delighted to announce the promotion of Graeme Fraser as our new Global Product Line Sales Manager – Subsea Visual Systems. Graeme bring a wealth of experience with over 20 years in the acoustic sector and over 10 years dedicated to Subsea Visual Systems.
