Celebrating 50 Years of Innovation in Wick

This week, Imenco Future Technologies (IFT) had the pleasure of hosting its board meeting in Wick, Scotland — a location rich with history and significance for our company. The timing was particularly special, as it coincided with the 50th anniversary of continuous operations at the Wick facility.

To mark the occasion, we held a celebratory lunch with all the staff, members of the board of directors, and several esteemed guests from the local community. Among those in attendance were Jan McEwan, Provost of Wick; Willie Watt, Vice-Lieutenant of Caithness; Clare Wilson, Senior Development Manager at Highland and Islands Enterprise and Dave Thomson, one of the original founders of Osprey Electronics — the company that would eventually become part of Imenco.

Dave shared fascinating stories from the early days of the company and the role Wick played in its growth. His presence was a powerful reminder of the legacy and pioneering spirit that continue to drive us forward.

A highlight of the event was the formal recognition by the Provost of Wick of both Geir Egil Østebøvik and IFT, in appreciation of the company’s long-standing contribution to the local economy and community development.

It was a joyful and memorable event for all, celebrating half a century of innovation, dedication, and strong local partnerships.

Here’s to the next 50 years!
